Telling a Big Story with Little Stories

The stories and prose fragments in my preposterous little book Melancholic Parables are not linked, but they are not unlinked. They do not tell a unified story, but they also do not not tell a unified story. I flatter myself that they somehow add up to more than what they are.

When the opportunity emerged to curate a small list of books similar to my own on Shepherd, this was the aspect of it which I chose to focus on: little stories that link to tell big stories.

Three collections of short stories, one collection of flash fiction, and one collection of poetry—each of which manages to constellate around a mood or a theme or an emotional plot line. To read my thoughts on each of these books and perhaps discover your next read, you are going to have to click on this link right here.
