In the summer of 2014, I took a trip to Dublin, Ireland for about 9 or 10 days (if you include travel). I blogged about it, but blog posts tend to get lost on this site, and it isn't easy to read posts in sequence either.

A quick bit of news: I wrote a very short story (a single paragraph long) called “None Guessed”, about a woman named Tareneh who is shot. You’d think I’d have more upbeat things to write stories about. But, no. I do not. The editors of Swamp Ape Review were kind enough to include the story in Volume 6. I do not believe it is available online, but if you come across a print copy, I encourage you to buy it. My little piece is… you know… it is what it is. Of the other work in the...

I have just published a chapbook of short stories which I have called Váried Páralyses. What is a chapbook? It is a slim volume (no more then 40 pages) of poetry or, less commonly, fiction. Usually the poems or stories are united by a common theme, such as grief, love, nature, et cetera. My 49-page chapbook is actually just a bunch of stories. If any common themes exist among them, this is accidental. Thus, I am abusing the term “chapbook”. As a reader, you know you are in good hands with...

Some big news. Night Beats and tRaum Books have collaborated to release a short story anthology called: Instant Classic (That No One Will Read) I have a story in this. I really hope you will read it, especially if the following description entices you: “Instant Classic offers nine sardonic tales holding a carnival mirror to writers and stories. From a deal with the Devil to the ultimate AI-versus-human showdown, witness the terrifying spectacle of artists who will do anything to clamber out...

I have a very short story included in volume 16 of Delmarva Review. The title of the story is “Story”. I have never taught creative writing, but if I did, and if a student brought in a story titled “Story”, I imagine I’d give that student a bit of a talking to. It’s in the same league as “Untitled” or whatever. (Yes, when I was younger, I titled things “Untitled” all the time.) Still, I chose that title, admittedly with trepidation, because the theme of stories and how we...

Every book deserves more readers. But independently published books and books from small presses especially deserve more readers.

I’d like to ask for your help, because something’s coming soon. “What’s coming soon? How can I help?” Very good of you to ask. An anthology called Guaranteed Bestseller (Which No One Will Read) is coming soon, and I am happy to have a piece included in it. What I hope you’ll do is join the cover reveal street team. I also hope you’ll request an Advance Review Copy (ARC). The link to sign up is right here. “What kind of book is it?” Let me share the official blurb:...
