Váried Parályses

I have just published a chapbook of short stories which I have called Váried Páralyses.

What is a chapbook? It is a slim volume (no more then 40 pages) of poetry or, less commonly, fiction. Usually the poems or stories are united by a common theme, such as grief, love, nature, et cetera.

My 49-page chapbook is actually just a bunch of stories. If any common themes exist among them, this is accidental. Thus, I am abusing the term “chapbook”.

As a reader, you know you are in good hands with a writer who cannot use words accurately.

Never mind that. Let me tell you a little about the origin of this chapbook. Each of the stories has been previously published in a literary magazine, some online, others only in print. They came to be collected in a single volume as follows:

Sometime back, I began selling a five-story chapbook called The Galoofus. If you are one of the approximately one people who bought it, thank you very much. It is now out of print.

At the same time, I offered a second, six-story chapbook called Váried Páralyses as a free download it to anyone who kindly signed up for my newsletter. To the extent of my knowledge, not one person downloaded the book.

If you cannot give something away for free, what should you do with it? Sell it for money, of course.

I took the two stories I like the best from The Galoofus and added them to Váried Páralyses, which means it now has eight stories, and I am selling the paperback for $4 USD. I am counting on the low price of $4 to entice you more than the previous unreasonable price of $0.

So, I wrote this blog post in order to announce the release of this little book. If you'd like to learn more, please click the button below.
